Hybrid work has come a long way since the start of the pandemic. According to survey data by Gallup, 60 percent of employees worked exclusively on-site in 2019. By 2022, that number dropped to 23 percent. Meanwhile, companies with hybrid workplace policies jumped from 32 percent to 53 percent over the past two years. In this article, we’re taking a deep dive into the future of the hybrid workplace.
Returning to office after Covid era and two years of working from home can pose a real challenge for many employees and companies. Everybody has experienced the pandemic in their own way, so people have different attitudes towards their working space. While younger employees are the most excited about this change, more experienced professionals, who need less supervision, tend to be more reluctant.

Now, as many countries around the world start to shift into the new normal, here are a few predictions about the future of work after the Coronavirus pandemic.
More than a decade ago, open floor plans were heralded as the future of workplace design. The drab walls and cubicles that conjured images from the movie Office Space were no longer the norm. By then, companies could look and feel like hip, young startups with open space plans and team members sitting right next to each other.

The most quoted jobs metric in the world, “Unemployment,” is misleading. And because we lack metrics to asses the quality of a position, we are also facing a problem in defining what a good job is. But recent undertakings shed more light on the matter, revealing where all the great jobs are, complete with the deficits that remain.
Gallup’s first World Poll was conducted a decade ago, in 2005. Then, like now, it was found that people crave a good job. Crudely speaking, this means 30+ hours per week and a decent paycheck. 1.3 billion out of the world 5 billion adults have a good job, based on this definition. 12% of these are engaged at work, in what can be considered not just a good job, but a great job
Companies competing in the technology sector are – to put it mildly – smart. They not only make the world go round, but they also set the tone for the future through their unique taste in architecture, collaboration and HR practices.
Employers today have to struggle to wow applicants with bold office designs, mild policies and a long list of benefits. For tech companies, the workforce is the most important asset. Without the people, there is no product or service, no matter how brilliant the company’s management might be.
In a tweet directed at its relatively few followers last September, Ninja Infographic shared an interesting list of 9 must-do things to to stay productive. Few people are able to follow this entire set of rules on a daily basis, but I would like to highlight one of them as the cornerstone of office work (in my opinion, at least).
The web is chock full of advice regarding meetings and how to tackle them. Do this, don’t do that, here’s what to say to appear smart, and the list could go on. Personally, I think it all boils down to five Don’ts and just as many Do’s. I’ll save the positive ones for a later post. Right now, let’s look at what you shouldn’t do in a meeting. No ifs or buts.
