Increased Collaboration Touted As the #1 ‘Symptom’ of Cloud Adoption in HBR Study

It’s no mystery that enterprises today are racing to give themselves a competitive edge by moving operations from on-premise to cloud. This ‘maturity’ is apparently at its highest in 2015, with Harvard Business Review Analytic Services reporting that 44 percent of respondents in a study reported increased revenue, while 36 percent posted a spike in profits.

Perhaps more interestingly (to us, at least), the same survey found that cloud adoption enabled unprecedented levels of scalability and increased collaboration across the surveyed companies – 452 business and IT professionals.

IDG: Demand For Collaboration Software Poised to Explode Within The Next Year

A few days ago, data group IDG Enterprise rolled out a lengthy report coupled with an infographic to show the state of UC&C (Unified Communications & Collaboration) today, with an eye on the next 12 months.

The research conducted by the enterprise technology media company revealed that data transformation continues to climb a steep hill, but that the UC&C sector in particular is making an innovative leap. Best of all, “organizations are recognizing the value that sits within these solutions,” according to Brian Glynn, chief revenue officer of IDG Enterprise.

Quick: what are your staffers doing at this very second? If you’re like most organizations, there’s a good chance many of your staffers are attending to personal matters. But who says it’s acceptable just because it happens in other offices too?

According to a recent survey of 2,000 office workers conducted by AtTask and Harris Interactive – experts in management and market research – employees at various firms said they only dedicate 45 percent of their time to getting stuff done.
