Attend 4PSA Partner Meetup in Madrid to Accelerate Your Business

Two weeks ago we announced the 4PSA Partner Meetup that will take place in Madrid, Spain at the beginning of summer on June 1-2, 2015. We want to see you there, face to face, and chat the good old-fashioned way 🙂 You will also be able to meet with fellow service providers, exchange ideas, share experience, and have some drinks.

Besides the fun part, there are lots of reasons to join us there. In April we released VoipNow 3.5, in the following days we’ll be launching VoipNow Mobile 2.0 and VoipNow 3.6, and Hubgets is round the corner. With every new version, we are extending the feature set, creating new opportunities for service providers. We want to make sure that you know how to make money out of all the new stuff.

Bill Gates’ Boldest Predictions and How 4PSA Is Fulfilling Them

We’ve always heard about Bill Gates the geek versus Steve Jobs the visionary, but the reality is both had a bit of the other in them. In fact, Gates had probably more vision than Jobs had a geeky side. Here’s some compelling evidence of that.

After reading Gates’ 1999 book “Business @ the Speed of Thought,” Markus Kirjonen – who is a business student at Aalto University in Finland – did a writeup aggregating the Microsoft founder’s boldest predictions for the future. Not surprisingly (to us, at least) many of them have or are in the process of being fulfilled.

VoipNow 3.5 Is Out And Boy Are We Proud Of It

After months of painstaking work, we can proudly say that the final version of VoipNow 3.5 is out and ready for grabs. This milestone release packs as many improvements as King Leonidas had Spartan soldiers.

A quick recap of the who’s who in this update: WebRTC over SIP with audio and video support on all desktop and mobile browsers, a big data, search and analytics engine, full media encryption, and improved security. We gave the web management interface a makeover to harmonize the graphics, and there are now five color themes to choose from.

New VoipNow Product Management Policy

VoipNow 3.5.0 GA will be released on Monday, 20 Apr 2015. It has been a very long ride for our most impressive release yet. We are very proud of it:

  • more than 2,000 JIRA issues solved (improvements, bugs, general tasks)
  • over 10k commits in the code base
  • over 40k hours of work

You will get a lot more details on Monday about the technical stuff. Meanwhile, you can get hot news from @VoipNowUpdates on Twitter.

Education Can No Longer Turn a Blind Eye To Unified Communications

School is mostly about students listening and teachers talking. In order to fill any missing gaps before moving on to the next lesson, we might need to pay closer attention to the student-teacher relationship beyond the classroom walls.

When the bell rings, any communication flow that does exist between tutors and tutees gets interrupted, making education one of the most fragmented processes we undergo as we develop into adults. In recent years, this problem has become easy to address.

5 Clear Signs That Next-Gen Communication Is Ripe For The Picking

VoIP has been around for decades, yet most SMBs (small and midsize businesses) are way behind the technology curve when it comes to business phone systems. If your job is to sell PBX services, this is probably the best piece of news you’ve heard this year.

Next-generation communications are getting more versatile by the day. While this is awesome for the industry, it’s also in conflict with SMBs’ views. The more advanced the features, the more intimidated they seem to be to give them a try.

The Naked Truth About Why Collaboration Solutions Fail

Good team work yields positive results in any type of organization, but it’s easier said than done, unfortunately. While technology lets us do pretty much anything these days, we often fail to make proper use of the ingeniously-crafted tools around us.

One such example is team collaboration and the solutions design to assist this process. More often than not they fail to spur productivity when implemented without notice or training, and worse still – before any research has been done about the company’s actual need for these tools. This was the key finding in a study conducted by Softchoice on firms where the managers failed to understand unified communications (UC) and collaboration tools.

The poll was carried out on 250 IT managers and 750 line-of-business employees to determine the impact of typical UC and collaboration rollouts on employee habits, preferences and overall satisfaction at the workplace. One of the first things the survey managed to uncover was that many IT managers are actually hesitant to invest in new collaboration technology because, as they put it, the ones they already have implemented are not being used.

Quote of the Day by One of the Funniest People Alive

Offices aren’t for everyone. Creative minds and free thinkers often have no place in a 9-to-5 environment, but many still do it if the pay is good and the work is somewhat fulfilling. However, if there’s one thing that even proficient office workers hate, it’s meetings.

Has Your Enterprise Outgrown Its Business Phone System?

Avatar photo

A fast-growing business may be synonymous with success, but not necessarily with smooth sailing too. A business doesn’t just manage itself, and even when there’s high demand for your product, you can fall short in aspects that actually sell it. Like your phone system.

Ask yourself this: if you had to add an extra phone line right now, how much time and effort would it take? How about handling your calls when you step out for coffee, or tracking KPIs? If your organization depends on picking up the phone in a timely fashion, you might want to look into a cloud-based phone system.
