The switch to Opus codec
VoipNow now uses Opus Stereo, a modern codec that provides higher sound quality with smaller file sizes. It also improves audio performance on mobile devices and helps reduce battery usage.
Even more importantly, it records voice on separate channels and includes detailed metadata. With this codec, call recordings and voicemails in VoipNow are now fully optimized for AI processing.
Stronger compliance with STIR/SHAKEN
Caller ID validation has been enhanced, ensuring stronger attestation within your network and without relying on external third-party systems.
Technology stack overhaul
More than 30 internal components have been updated, improving performance, reliability, and security across the platform. Reports have also been redesigned for clearer visibility into call and queue performance.
Long-term support and a clear path forward
VoipNow 5.7.x comes with long-term support through December 2028, providing a stable foundation for service providers planning ahead.
The release also marks a clean separation from Hubgets components. It helps you simplify operations, streamline upgrades, and prepare the ground for the next major evolution of the platform.
