To celebrate Solitaire’s 25th anniversary, Microsoft plans to pit its best players against the most avid fans of the game. If you think that’s you, prepare to take on the software giant’s skilled procrastinators on June 5th.
Solitaire has been a major source of boredom killer for bank tellers and pensioner alike, from Windows 3.0 at the start of the ’90s to this day. Regardless of age or social status, the game is equally fun for everyone who plays it. That is, until you get stuck for the seventh time in a row and want to run your fist through the screen. But I digress.
Currently the fight is on between Microsoft’s own staffers. Five popular versions of the game are being played, including the classic Klondike Solitaire. The same will go for the public competition. Whomever wins the current internal contest will be your arch enemy in June.
“From Klondike to FreeCell to Spider, TriPeaks and Pyramid game modes, you’ll be challenged to bring your best to defeat our best. Are you up to the challenge? Get your Solitaire game on today,” says the software giant.
